Our product information site has been upgraded. The site contains traditional product information and the new package labelling based on the Guideline Daily Allowance, GDA. The GDA labelling appearing on our products complies with the recommendations of the European Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries, the CIAA, as well as the Finnish Food and Drinks Industries’ Federation.
The GDA label will make it easier for consumers to make balanced choices regarding their diet. It tells consumers at a glance the amount of energy and key nutrients, such as sugars, fat, saturated fat and sodium, contained in one serving, or other amounts typically used with food. In addition to these nutrients, the labelling may also include protein, carbohydrates and fibre. The label not only gives the amount of the nutrient but also the percentage of the guideline daily allowance for the element in question.
A balanced diet also includes enjoyment, and Cloetta Fazer aims to use GDA labelling to help consumers choose the products that best suit their personal needs.
A diet of 2000 Kcal for an adult woman has been specified as the reference values for the CIAA’s guideline daily allowance. These reference values are parallel with Finnish nutritional recommendations. Sugars are the exception to this. The nutritional recommendation is based on the amount of added sugar, but the guideline daily allowance uses the total amount of sugars (including natural sugars such as lactose and glucose) and therefore the figure for the GDA is larger.
** all mono and disaccharides, incl. lactose *** saturated and trans fatty acids
E% = energy percent. A specific nutrient's share of the total daily energy intake (e.g. 2000 kcal).
